Jean Pougnier is a proven and seasoned global, senior business leader with significant experience in all aspects of business management. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated strong capabilities in finance, sales and marketing, business development and strategic planning, along with broad geographic reach.
Jean last assignment was with AMVAC where he was vice-president for Business Development and Marketing. Before that, Jean was the global leader of the DuPont divested assets where he facilitated the integration in FMC. Prior to this role, Jean was the global business development and strategic planning director for DuPont’s $3.5 billion Crop Protection Business. His exceptional understanding of the marketplace has help propel the DuPont business to anticipate market trends and outperform the competition. And he has led the negotiation for several highly innovative licensing agreements involving DuPont’s blockbuster crop protection novel molecules with the outcome of creating significant incremental revenues and earnings for DuPont.
In 2003, as Chief Operating Officer, Jean oversaw the business and integration of Griffin, LLC, a key Crop Protection partner, and eventual acquisition, for the Crop Protection business. Jean was able, through his strong leadership to maintain Griffin LLC business during very uncertain times and to smoothly manage the integration into DuPont
Previously, Jean led the Crop Protection business as country leader in Spain and regional business leader for France and Benelux. In these positions, he led the business through expansion and restructuring environments- navigating both to deliver strong business results and maintain employee engagement and loyalty.
Jean began his career at DuPont in the Finance division in Geneva, Switzerland as a treasury analyst. He rapidly advanced through a series of Finance positions, including Internal Audit, General Accounting and Treasury, before being named as DuPont France Comptroller and eventually Chief Finance Officer (CFO) for DuPont Crop Protection in Europe. He later was named CFO of DuPont’s Global $1.5 billion Lycra® business where he reorganized the financial function to increase clarity, efficiency and accountability.
Jean holds BS in Economics from Clemson University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is married, with two children and is fluent in English and French with a working knowledge of Spanish and to a lesser extent German.
