A PhD in a chemical or physical science with one to three years of industrial experience is required.  Candidates should have experience in the development, physical characterization, or performance characterization of multiphase formulations.  Experience of applying analytical and physical chemistry methods to characterize ingredients in the formulations, is preferred.  Experience working in or with the agriculture industry is also preferred. The team at Crop Enhancement encompasses a wide range of technical backgrounds; strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of novel agricultural formulations
  • Determine the analytical, physical, and performance characteristics of these formulations
  • Develop new methods for performance characterization, including validation of these methods with reference to current agricultural practices
  • Integrate instruments into workflows to provide a comprehensive picture of product evolution during formulation, application, and interaction with targeted pests and diseases.
  • Support the company’s biological and field testing programs
  • Participate in the development of the company’s patent portfolio
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant scientific and industry literature
  • Prepare technical reports and proposals

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Office Management:

  • Organize office operations and procedures
  • Performing administrative tasks as required
  • Point person for maintenance, mailing, shipping, supplies, equipment, bills and errands
  • Support meetings and appointments such as quarterly board meetings
  • Participate actively in the planning and execution of company events
  • Look for ways to improve our employee experience while effectively managing costs

Bookkeeping (partner with CFO and Senior Accountant):

  • Reconcile all transactions
  • Keep track of all credit card transactions
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Manage invoicing of customers, including follow up
  • Ensure the accuracy of all POs
  • Handle payroll, including expense management and reporting
  • Manage Human Resource procedures and compliance, including benefits and PTO
  • Understanding of US GAAP

 

Qualifications

  • Proven office management, bookkeeping, administrative or assistant experience
  • Knowledge of office management & bookkeeping responsibilities, systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
  • Unbelievably organized and an expert juggler of many balls in the air, tracking every detail and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks

  • Data recording (10%): Record data and summarize experimental trials using Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Lab Cleaning/Organizing (5%): Clean and organize the biology labs.

Compensation:
